About Us

A practice built around great and small

An independent, locally owned Fermoy practice caring for companion animals, horses and cattle — one team, from routine health checks to on-farm herd health work.

Our Practice

Independent, locally owned and here for the long run

Duntahane Veterinary Clinic is an independent practice, owned and run locally in Fermoy. That independence is the reason we can give the time each case needs, build care plans around the individual animal, and keep working with the same clients, farms and families year after year.

  • Independently owned and locally run
  • Our own in-house laboratory
  • Small animal and farm specialists
  • 24/7 emergency line, day or night
  • Independent

We are not part of a corporate group. Decisions about your animal's care are made here, by the vet in front of you.

  • Locally owned

Owned and run from Duntaheen Road in Fermoy, by people who live and farm in the same community we serve.

  • Community practice

Familiar faces on the phone, in the consult room and out on the yard — continuity of care, not a rota of strangers.

  • Great and small

One team looking after dogs, cats and small pets alongside horses, cattle and sheep across North Cork.

Our Values

The principles behind every consultation

Compassion, professionalism, trust and high-quality veterinary care guide how we work with every animal and every owner who walks through the door.

Compassion

Every animal is treated gently and with patience, and every owner is met with understanding.

Professionalism

Clear standards, careful record keeping and continued training across the whole team.

Trust

Honest advice and transparent pricing, so you always know what is happening and why.

Quality Care

Modern equipment and evidence-based medicine to give every patient the best outcome.

Our Approach

Care planned around your animal

Preventive Healthcare

Vaccination, parasite control and routine health checks that catch problems early and keep animals well.

Client Communication

We explain options in plain language, share results promptly and keep you involved in every decision.

Personalised Treatment Plans

Care is tailored to each animal's age, breed, lifestyle and history — never a one-size-fits-all approach.
